A Video Collage of Monpa People at Tawang Monestary

The monastery was celebrating a festival, so the young monks were in high spirits and Monpa people from surrounding villages dressed in traditional attire were attending in large numbers.  The distinctive spider like hats worn by men and women are made of yak felt, and the womens' dresses are raw silk with natural dyes.  Tawang has the distinction of being the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama.
